Aprocor-Prosegur Special Employment Center: inclusive labor policies and efficient logistics
Collaboration with Aprocor-Prosegur Special Employment Center has allowed Prosegur to efficiently handle 15,000 shipments per year, with a total of 40,000 units and the management of 1,500 references, highlighting the effectiveness of inclusion and strategic planning

Madrid, November 27, 2023.- A showcase for the wide-ranging benefits of corporate social responsibility, the Madrid-based Aprocor-Prosegur Special Employment Center (CEE in Spanish) has established itself as a benchmark for inclusive labor policies in the logistics sector. Created in 2007 by Prosegur and the Aprocor Inclusion and Support Foundation, it has played a key role in providing meaningful employment to people with intellectual disabilities, who have helped improve Prosegur's logistics chain.
The CEE has grown significantly since 2014 and now operates in three countries, providing logistics services to more than 150 company branches. With a budget of €2.6 million and a turnover of €3 million, the initiative highlights the viability of an inclusive business strategy.
Playing a crucial role in the management of Prosegur's uniforms in Europe, the CEE covers the process from receipt and storage to distribution, recycling and disposal of materials. This efficient management has not only optimized order and stock control, but has also incorporated sustainable practices, as demonstrated by the recycling of 15,000 uniforms, producing significant economic savings and reflecting a commitment to sustainability.
Leticia Avendaño Martínez-Clavel, director of the Foundation, highlights the advantages of inclusive policies for people with intellectual disabilities: "Integrating this group into the workforce is not only a question of fairness, but also a source of concrete benefits for business structures.” She also stresses the importance of providing access to training in technology and logistical processes, thus promoting genuine inclusion in the workplace.
Despite an 8% increase in 2022 in the number of people with disabilities hired in Spain, only 24% of this demographic has an active job, which highlights the relevance of initiatives such as Prosegur-Aprocor. This collaboration has been transformative in the employment and quality of life of its workers, offering job training adapted to new technologies and providing access to the wider job market.
Francisco Berral, Prosegur's Global Director of Procurement and Media Management, highlights the effectiveness and value of the joint venture: "At Prosegur, we value our collaboration with the Aprocor-Prosegur Special Employment Center as an integral component of our logistics network. This alliance has allowed us to efficiently handle the shipment of 15,000 packages per year, covering a total of 40,000 units and the management of 1,500 references. The efficiency and accuracy we have achieved through this cooperation demonstrates how strategic partnerships can empower our operations while maintaining a commitment to inclusion."
The Aprocor-Prosegur Special Employment Center is an example of how diversity and inclusion can be drivers of business success. This alliance has not only generated significant change in the workplace, but has also redefined the role of business in creating a more inclusive and sustainable society.
