Prosegur inaugurates a new branch office in Portugal

Madrid, September 22nd, 2014. – Prosegur has inaugurated a new delegation today in the Algarve, Portugal. The Portuguese Minister of Economy, Antonio Pires de Lima, Prosegur’s Chairman, Helena Revoredo and the Country Manager of Prosegur in Portugal, Joao Gaspar da Silva, have attended this event. In this branch office, located in Loulé, in the region of Faro, 70 employees will offer services of manned guarding, cash in transit and technology. The new office incorporates the latest technological innovations, and joins the six current delegations that Prosegur has in Portugal, strengthening, in this way, their leadership in the industry in which the Company obtained around €150 million in turnover during 2013.

Prosegur offers security services in manned guarding, corporate technology, cash in transit andalarms for homes and businesses. It is the leading security company in Portugal, where the Company is the seventh employer of the country, with more than 7,000 employees.

For Helena Revoredo, chairman of Prosegur, this new branch office confirms the strong bet of the Company in Portugal, “the country that was the first step in the internationalisation of our business 35 years ago, and from which we expect important returns in the future”. From his side, the country manager of Prosegur in Portugal, João Gaspar da Silva, states the following: “On top of building up the presence of Prosegur in the Algarve, we will also reinforce the security in this region, contributing to its attractiveness as a tourist destination”.
