Prosegur’s turnover exceeded €643 million in Q1 2011

Madrid, May 5th, 2011. –Prosegur´s turnover has exceeded €643 million in Q1 FY11 representing an increase of 8.6 percent.

This increase is mainly due to the strong organic growth of the Company, 7.9 percent, including the exchange rate effect. This growth confirms the success of the business model in Integrated Security Solutions being developed by Prosegur and allowing it to further consolidate as a reference company in all markets where it operates with a clearly identified strategy -close proximity to the customer, excellence and quality in service, linked to a sound financial position.

EBIT, Earnings before Interest and Taxes, was €66.1 million. The consolidated Net Profit of the Company in Q1 amounted to €42.9million, representing an increase of 19.4 percent over the same period in 2010.

With the main goal of securing a better knowledge of the Company’s business model and in the continuous seeking of excellence and innovation, Prosegur offers to its clients an Integrated Security Solutions which embraces three activities: Surveillance, Valuable Logistic and Cash Management and Electronic Security – Security Technical Solutions and Residential Alarms-. Due to this, Prosegur presents its results by product line since FY11.

Surveillance 
During Q1 2011, Surveillance had a turnover of €316 million, representing an increase of 4.8 percent with respect to the same period last year.

By region, business in Europe decreased 1.3 percent and Latin America increased of 19.7 percent exceeding €104 million.

Valuable Logistic and Cash Management
The area of VLCM reached sales of €250 million during Q1 2011, a 14.6 per cent more than the same period last year.

By region, business in Europe decrease 1.9 percent while Latin America increased 19.6 percent exceeding the figure of €200 million.

Electronic Security
In Electronic Security, Prosegur earned more than €76 million, which means an increase of 6.7 per cent with respect to same period in the previous year.

By region business, Europe exceeded €48 million repeating the same figures as in the previous year and in Latin America business increased by 22.2 per cent, over €27 million.
