Prosegur boosts its leadership in Uruguay by acquiring Segura, a company specialising in alarms and surveillance

Prosegur has acquired Segura, a front-runner in the alarms and manned guarding market in Uruguay with four offices in the Maldonado and Montevideo departments.

Segura, which employs more than 630 people, provides surveillance services to a broad customer base including gated communities, schools and construction companies, and alarm services to households and businesses alike. This new acquisition strengthens Prosegur's leadership in the Uruguayan market where it now has more than 3,000 employees, 18,000 alarm customers, 60 armoured trucks and more than 100 light-duty vehicles.

The operation is another step forward in the Spanish company's internationalisation strategy, reflecting its commitment to such significant markets as Singapore, India, Germany and Brazil, where its latest acquisitions have focused.
