Prosegur oversees security for third year running at the world’s biggest tennis event

Málaga, 20 October 2024.- Prosegur Security, a leader in the private security sector, will be responsible for security at this year’s Davis Cup and the Billie Jean Cup women’s tennis competition, the largest sporting event ever held in the Andalusian port city of Malaga.

This year has seen a major increase in security arrangements, reflecting the increasing complexity of the event, with two different competitions being staged. Rafael Nadal's professional farewell, together with the participation of prominent figures such as Carlos Alcaraz, the presence of senior figures from the regional and national governments, along with leading personalities from various fields, have increased the security requirements with respect to the previous two years in which Prosegur has overseen security at the Davis Cup.

A team of more than 450 will ensure security during the tournaments from November 13 in the enclosure and its surroundings. These professionals make up one of the three structural pillars of the company's hybrid security model, which combines a physical presence with cutting-edge technology and smart data management.

David Monge, head of Prosegur Security for Andalusia, the Canary Islands and Ceuta and Melilla explains: "Security operations for events with a large influx of public such as this one demonstrate Prosegur Security's commitment to stable employment, quality training, equal opportunities, comprehensive well-being and social commitment."

Prosegur Security, with a presence in 34 countries on five continents, employs more than 110,000 guards and auxiliaries around the world, 35,000 of whom are in Spain. In Andalusia, the company has 5,500 auxiliary guards, making it one of the main drivers of permanent employment in the region.
