Prosegur and Bancolombia announce an alliance to expand access to security in the country

Bogotá, November 9th, 2022. In order to promote prevention in the security of Colombian homes, Prosegur Alarms and Bancolombia announce an alliance that will allow users of the Tu360Inmobiliario solution, of this financial entity, to access the services offered by the security company.

This is the first strategic alliance in the country and in Latin America between leading companies in the banking and security sector so that people have greater access to systems that protect them. Prosegur Alarms, developer and owner of one of the largest security platforms in the world, will have its innovative technology available to Tu360Inmobiliario users, integrating the triple security concept of an anti-sabotage, anti-intrusion and anti-inhibition system to have a connected home.

For its part, Bancolombia will provide the possibility for people to access immediate loans for contracting these services, thus consolidating a housing ecosystem that transcends the purchase of a property. “For Bancolombia, this alliance means a valuable opportunity to continue delivering comprehensive solutions to its customers and users, in this case from Tu360Inmobiliario. Home security is essential, and together with Prosegur, a leading alarm monitoring company, we will offer a differential portfolio that allows people to have peace of mind and protection for their assets”, says Cristina Arrastía, Vice President of Business at Bancolombia.

Ana Carolina Ramírez Amaya, General Director of Prosegur Alarms Colombia, assures that “this alliance represents our important commitment to offer a better quality of life to people, thanks to state-of-the-art security services accessible to Colombian homes, and thus be able to have safer environments for people. Being together with Bancolombia in this initiative is of great value for Prosegur”.

Overview of security in Colombian homes

According to data from Prosegur, at least 32% of Colombians have been victims of some situation related to their security in the last 12 months, and of that percentage, close to 43% saw the security of their home affected, which represents a great sample of the risks that Colombian households face, but above all a great opportunity for the creation of a culture of care and security.

In Colombia, the use of alarms represents barely 1%, which differs significantly from market penetration in the region, such as Argentina, which reaches 10%. This is because one of the most relevant barriers for accessing home security solutions is cost related.

This scenario puts two major challenges on the table: expanding people's access to options available by companies such as Prosegur, and fostering a culture of prevention in home security. "Putting in the hands of people a set of equipment and monitoring capabilities that simplify their lives, increasing home security from a mobile device is one of Prosegur's solutions for all Colombians," adds the director of Prosegur Alarms Colombia.

Currently, more than two million users visit Bancolombia's Tu360Inmobiliario in search of housing solutions. With this indicator, Prosegur hopes to continue entering the Colombian market, after the installation of more than 28,000 alarms in the main cities of the country, such as Medellín, Bogotá, Barranquilla and Cali.
