Madrid, October 19, 2023 - Prosegur, a global leader in comprehensive private security solutions, has approved its Third Equality Plan, which will be rolled out between now and 2027. A pioneer in the sector for equality policies, it drew up its first Equality Plan in 2011. This new plan further consolidates the company's commitment to equal treatment and employment opportunities, keeping Prosegur at the forefront in the fight against inequality and gender discrimination.

The plan was coordinated with Spanish labor unions FESMC-UGT, CCOO del Habitat and FTSP-USO, guaranteeing the interests of the entire workforce.

The Third Equality Plan recognizes the importance of personal, family and other commitments by allowing unpaid leave for bringing up pre-school infants, looking after minors, people over 65 years of age and other dependents; as well adapting the working day to meet the needs of children under 14 years of age or dependent persons, among others.

The Plan also updates Prosegur’s Prevention and Intervention against Sexual Harassment and/or Sexual Harassment and Other Conduct against Sexual Freedom, along with a new protocol supporting female workers who are victims of gender violence, designating two people responsible for ensuring its compliance and implementation.

As reflected in its Diversity and Inclusive Growth Policy, equal opportunities are a priority for Prosegur. With the goal of promoting and developing female talent and increasing the number of women in the private security sector, Prosegur has launched a series of initiatives that contribute decisively in creating value.

Among Prosegur’s recent initiatives to strengthen equality and increase opportunities for women is the Empowered Women program, aimed at encouraging internal female talent, as well as strengthening their leadership and promotion in the company. Launched in 2021 in Spain, the success of the initiative led to its expansion to Portugal and 14 Latin American countries, with 150 women participating to date.

María Victoria Jiménez de Pablo, Global Director of Labor Relations at Prosegur, said: "The positive impact Empowered Women has had on the careers of the participants and on our organization is what motivates us to continue working towards the project's goal, which is to put Prosegur's commitment to women into practice and provide genuine support for female talent in our company."

In November 2022, the company signed up to the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEP), one of the main global agreements promoted by UN Women, in alliance with the United Nations Global Compact to actively promote the role of women in business environments. In April 2023 the company signed the Diversity Charter, a 10-point program on diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Since June this year, we have been participating in Target Gender Equality, a gender equality accelerator program for companies participating in the United Nations Global Compact to reduce the gender gap and promote equality in the business environment.

Prosegur further demonstrates its commitment to equality by actively participating in International Women's Day on March 8, and by collaborating with the Technovation Girls global education competition. All these measures are aimed at reinforcing our goal of becoming a 100% equal opportunities organization and promoting female leadership in our company.

Thanks to initiatives such as these, Prosegur has now positioned itself above the industry average in terms of the percentage of women in its 150,000-strong workforce, reaching 14.5%. Meanwhile, according to 2022 data from Spain’s APROSER employers' the national average for the security sector is 13%.

In short, this Third Equality Plan reflects Prosegur’s commitment to maintaining and developing policies that respect the principles of parity that have inspired its initiatives thus far, and will serve as a starting point to carry out continued improvements, establishing monitoring systems to achieve equality between women and men within the group.
