Prosegur and Prosegur Cash sign up to the Digital Pact for the protection of people
This initiative, promoted by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEPD), aims to strengthen the right to data protection, while promoting innovation and sustainability.

Madrid, 27 January 2022.– Prosegur and Prosegur Cash have signed up to the Digital Pact for the Protection of People, an initiative promoted by the Spanish Agency for Data Protection (AEDP). In doing so, both companies have undertaken to implement the principles and recommendations contained in the Pact, as well as to disseminate among their employees and interest groups the Agency's Priority Channel, via which any citizen can request the removal of sexual, violent or sensitive content published on the internet.
Among the principles contained in the Digital Pact are the promotion of transparency so that citizens are aware what data is being collected, the fostering of gender equality, the protection of children and people in vulnerable situations, and ensuring that technologies do not perpetuate biases or increase existing inequalities.
Antonio Rubio, General Security of Prosegur, explains that "Prosegur and Prosegur Cash endeavour to make the world a safer place and this commitment also includes digital environments. Our commitment to the objectives of the Digital Pact is steadfast and, therefore, we are very proud to join this initiative. Our aim is to help promote the fundamental right to the protection of people's data and make it compatible with the policies of equality and non-discriminatory treatment, sustainability, protection of minors and the incorporation of ethics in the design of our innovation projects".
As part of their commitment, Prosegur and Prosegur Cash will carry out a review of the Code of Ethics and Conduct, in addition to including the principles of the Digital Pact specifically in their Data Protection Policy. They will also promote awareness-raising actions that promote the knowledge and participation of their employees in the initiatives of the Pact. Additionally, they will include a direct link to the Priority Channel of the AEPD on their websites and intranet. In this way, both companies contribute to achieving the Agency's objective: to foster the proactive responsibility of organisations with regard to data protection, making this fundamental right compatible with innovation and business competitiveness.
Mar España, director of the Spanish Agency for Data Protection, stressed that "adherence to the Digital Pact and the values it encompasses imply a steadfast commitment to privacy in the sustainability policies and business models of organisations. In addition, the fact that companies play their part in communicating both the importance of the protection of people on the internet and privacy and their complete compatibility with innovation contributes to the creation of a society better informed of its rights and responsibilities."
