Prosegur Security deploys more than 850 professionals to oversee security at Spain’s Copa del Rey final
La compañía pondrá en marcha durante 10 días un operativo de seguridad reforzado, con vigilantes y auxiliares tanto en el Estadio de La Cartuja como en distintos puntos de la ciudad de Sevilla, en estrecha coordinación con las Fuerzas y Cuerpos de Seguridad del Estado.
Madrid, 16 April 2026.- For the fifth year in a row, Prosegur Security, an international benchmark in innovative solutions in private security, will oversee security at the final of the Copa del Rey. The final of Spain's oldest football tournament will pit Atletico Madrid against Real Sociedad on Saturday, April 18 at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville. For this 122nd edition, which will attract more than 70,000 fans, Prosegur will deploy more than 850 security professionals, located throughout the stadium and in strategic areas of the city, reflecting the growing complexity of this event.
Prosegur Security's professionals make up one of the three pillars of the company's hybrid security model, made up of human skills enhanced by the use of technology and smart data management. The operation will begin on April 8 in the stadium and its surroundings, in coordination with regional and national police, aims to prevent and minimize the risks associated with a large-scale event. In preparation, the company has live virtual training to the more than 850 professionals involved. This session was attended by the Security Directorate of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), which coordinated the operation online.
Prosegur will guarantee the safety of attendees at the La Cartuja Stadium and at key points of the event such as the RFEF Village Tent, as well as in the vicinity of the venue. The operation will include access control, 16 dogs specialized in detecting explosives and drugs and an exclusive signal repeater for more than 150 communication devices, reinforcing the coordination and effectiveness of the deployment.
As David Monge, director of Prosegur Security in the South Zone (Andalusia, the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla), explains: "Being at the forefront of security in events as important as the Copa del Rey final is evidence of Prosegur Security's operational capacity and commitment, especially in the year in which the company celebrates its 50th anniversary. Beyond guaranteeing a safe and efficient operation, these deployments highlight our involvement in the generation of stable employment in the region, consolidating our commitment to professional and responsible security".
Simultaneous security at major events in Spanish football
On the same day, Prosegur Security will deploy a 65-strong unit to handle security at the game between the Spanish Women's National Team and Ukraine at the Nuevo Arcángel Stadium in Córdoba on the fourth day of group A3 in the qualifying phase for the Women's World Cup in Brazil 2027. The company will also be deployed to the hotel in Seville where the Women’s national team will stay afterwards.
