Prosegur Security will deploy a team of more than 500 personnel to oversee security at the Rock in Rio Lisbon 2026 music festival
Responsible for security at Rock in Rio Lisbon since 2006, Prosegur will again lead a security operation for an event expected to draw more than 100,000 attendees daily on June 20, 21, 27, and 28.
June 18, 2026. – Prosegur Security, an international leader in innovative private security solutions, will be responsible, for the eleventh consecutive year, for providing private security services for the Rock in Rio Lisbon 2026 music festival, which will take place at the Portuguese capital’s Parque Tejo on June 20, 21, 27, and 28. The company will deploy a team of approximately 500 security guards led by a global security coordinator and seventeen supervisors, ensuring close and effective oversight of the entire operation.
This year marks 18 years of Prosegur Security’s partnership with Rock in Rio Lisbon, a track record that has allowed the company to build extensive experience in managing security systems for major events, developing specific capabilities to operate in highly complex environments with large crowds and demanding coordination requirements. The scale of the festival, which is expected to draw more than 100,000 attendees per day over two weekends, presents a significant operational and coordination challenge. Prosegur Security will be responsible for the comprehensive protection of the venue, ensuring the security of all strategic areas. Its duties include access control, parking surveillance, perimeter security, protection of the stages and the backstage area, as well as areas reserved for promoters, sponsors and other restricted-access zones.
To this end, the security operation will rely on a system using video surveillance cameras and other cutting-edge solutions that will continuously monitor the festival’s 260,000-square-meter perimeter.
The entire operation will be coordinated, monitored and supported from the iSOC security operations center, integrated into its Operational Control Center, a platform that centralizes security management and has constantly evolved to meet the growing needs of large-scale events.
As Gonçalo Morgado, CEO of Prosegur Security in Portugal, explains: “Security for an event of Rock in Rio Lisbon’s magnitude requires a combination of experience, planning, and adaptability. After nearly two decades of collaborating with Rock World, the festival’s organizer, we continue to evolve our hybrid security model to address new challenges and ensure a safe experience for all attendees.”
Prosegur Security will showcase its latest innovations and robotic solutions
Prosegur Security will have its own space within the festival where it will showcase some of the most advanced technological solutions it incorporates into its operations (though these will not be used during this year’s Rock in Rio event). Notable among these are the Yellow and Yellow Pro robots, as well as the iSOC Mobile solution—tools designed to enhance surveillance, monitoring, and incident management capabilities in complex, high-traffic environments. In addition, the company will conduct demonstrations for clients, partners, and authorities on the capabilities of its security model for smart cities, illustrating how it integrates advanced technologies for the monitoring, management, and protection of connected urban environments.
The integration of robotic solutions is part of Prosegur’s hybrid security model, which combines the expertise and decision-making capabilities of security professionals with advanced technologies such as AI, video analytics, sensor technology and robotics. This approach optimizes resources, expands monitoring capabilities, and improves operational efficiency at the same time as reinforcing the work of the teams responsible for ensuring the safety of people and spaces.
