Prosegur celebrates its 50th anniversary with an audience with Spain's King Felipe VI
Prosegur Group’s activities contribute to employment and social development in the communities where it operates by incorporating around 80,000 new employees around the world each year, while supporting the education, among others, of more than 5,000 students through its foundation in 38 schools throughout Latin America.
Madrid, 16 September 2026.– Spain’s King Felipe VI today received Prosegur’s board of directors and management committee on the occasion of the company's 50th anniversary, an auspicious occasion recognizing five decades of growth, innovation and technological evolution since its founding in Spain in 1976. This milestone highlights the trajectory of a Spanish company that over the course of half a century has driven constant growth, expanded internationally and undergone continuous transformation, making it a world leader in the private security sector.
During the audience with King Felipe, Prosegur's executives conveyed to His Majesty the differential nature of the company, whose activity is based on people, innovation and contributing to the economic and social development of the countries where it operates. The Prosegur team highlighted the impact of an organization where more than 180,000 employees develop their professional careers in a total of 36 countries on five continents.
The management team presented His Majesty with the company's vision of the role that companies play in the development of society, based on creating employment, promoting talent and generating sustainable value. They reaffirmed Prosegur's commitment to a responsible growth model that contributes to economic and social progress, community cohesion and generating opportunities for people. At the same time, they underlined the importance of security as an essential factor for the balanced development of modern societies and sustainable economic and business activity.
As part of the audience, King Felipe was presented with the first copy of 'Amarillo', a publication that explores the evolution of Prosegur's corporate color in the history of painting through the works of the Madrid’s Prado Museum.
Following the audience, Antonio Rubio, General Secretary of Prosegur, said: "This 50th anniversary reflects a sustained trajectory due to the efforts of thousands of professionals and the trust of our customers and shareholders. This audience with His Majesty the King is a recognition of that history and the values that have defined Prosegur since its origins".
Value creation by business areas
Among the initiatives shared with King Felipe, the management team highlighted Prosegur’s commitment to innovation and physical and digital security through Prosegur Security's Hybrid Security model, which combines the talent of its professionals with advanced capabilities in data analytics, AI, robotics, drones and cybersecurity.
The company's senior management outlined the transformation experienced by Prosegur Cash in recent years, which has been driven by the development of innovative solutions for the comprehensive management of means of payment and the digitalization of its customers' financial flows. At the same time, they explained how Transformation Products, including Cash Today, ATMs, Corban, Forex, Crypto, Cashback and Wallet, already represent more than 35% of the revenues of this business unit.
They also outlined Prosegur Alarms’s focus on the connected home, which works through an intelligent security ecosystem that integrates advanced video, AI and digital services. This has further evolved through the Movistar Prosegur Alarms joint venture, which already exceeds 600,000 connections in Spain.
The team also outlined Prosegur’s digital transformation through AVOS Tech’s development of technological solutions, automation and AI applied to the outsourcing of critical processes for strategic sectors such as banking and insurance.
