Movistar Prosegur Alarmas recorded more than 300,000 alerts during the summer of 2025
Between June and August 2025, Movistar Prosegur Alarmas managed more than 300,000 alarm triggers in Spain through the company's Alarm Reception Centre, with July being the month with the highest volume: nearly 34% of the total.
Madrid, 21 July 2026.- Movistar Prosegur Alarms Alarm Reception Centre (ARC) registered more than 300,000 alerts in Spain between June and August 2025, a figure that reflects the intense activity of connected security systems. The data shows that the summer months are the peak risk period for homes and business premises, coinciding with the holidays and the extended periods when they are unoccupied.
The incidences were evenly distributed during the summer period, with approximately one third of the cases concentrated in each month. In all of them, more than 100,000 incidents were recorded, with July being the month with the highest volume, accumulating about 34% of the total.
Movistar Prosegur Alarmas research shows that most of incidents occur during night hours, especially between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. In this period, less activity and surveillance increases the vulnerability of certain properties, such as apartments, homes and bars.
Highlighting the importance of a swift response to alarm triggers, Israel Casaseca, director of operations at Movistar Prosegur Alarms, explains: “The work of our CRA shows that effectiveness in intrusion management does not depend only on detection, but on the speed and quality of verification and the ability to anticipate and contextualize each incident in real time. In this process, the combination of technology, Artificial Intelligence, human analysis and speed of action defines the current model of connected security, in which prevention is the central axis.”
Four measures to strengthen security for the summer of 2026
With the arrival of summer 2026 and the start of the holiday period, more properties remain unoccupied for extended periods, increasing their exposure to intrusion risks. Movistar Prosegur Alarms recommends the adoption of a series of preventive measures aimed at reinforcing security before the start of the holidays:
Check accesses and enhance visible prevention: Take a few minutes to check that doors and windows are correctly closed. In addition, external security elements and warning signs significantly reduces the likelihood that certain properties will be chosen as targets.
Have the support of a trusted person: Asking a family member or acquaintance to visit the property periodically helps to avoid obvious signs of prolonged absence or inactivity.
Avoid sharing absence in real time: Posting trip information on social media can reveal that the property remains unattended. It is advisable to share this content only after the holidays are over.
Check the security system and camera detectors: Before leaving, it is important to check that the alarm is activated and connected to the Reception Center. The combination of alarms, detectors with camera and analysis by highly qualified professionals makes it possible to confirm what is happening in real time and activate the protocols to notify the Police without delay in the first moments of a break-in.
