Wata, Eccocar, Hocelot, Aves Netsec and Luminance are the five winners of Prosegur’s Open Innovation Programme.

Madrid, 21 July 2021.- Prosegur has selected Luminance, Hocelot, Aves Netsec, Wata and Eccocar as winners of the second edition of COME IN, the pioneering Open Innovation programme to address the security challenges of the future.
From 1 May to 21 June Prosegur received 155 proposals from different companies; 37 proposals for the challenge laid down by Prosegur Security, 32 for the challenge laid down by Prosegur Alarms, 26 for Prosegur AVOS, 13 for Cipher and 29 for the challenge laid down by the Legal department. The proposals were submitted from 35 countries, in particular Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom. The start-ups presented their solutions to the Selection Committee and the Heads of the different areas and businesses at the event held on 'Selection Day'.
According to Jose Daniel Garcia Espinel, Corporate Director of Innovation of Prosegur, “innovation and technology are key levers for Prosegur. For this reason, we launched the second edition of COME IN, in which we have received hundreds of creative proposals, five of which have been selected and will be implemented to help the different business units of Prosegur.
Among the five challenges proposed by the company, the South Korean company Wata has been the winner of the challenge laid down by Prosegur Security. The business unit was looking for solutions to support the reopening of the cultural and leisure sector, with the return of large events in safe and secure venues. Wata offers the AI Cloud Spatial Awareness platform, an indoor and hyper-proximity location information services platform that offers a wide range of solutions: from mapping to information gathering without the need for databases or location and analysis services.
Prosegur Alarms, for its part, laid down a challenge aimed at boosting the analysis of data collected by its security devices. The winner was Eccocar, a Spanish start-up that offers a technological solution that helps fleet managers to manage the sharing of vehicles by employees and also to collect, homogenise and manage all data, including data from electric charging points.
As regards the challenge laid down by Prosegur AVOS, the winner was the Spanish company Hocelot. The business unit specialising in outsourcing high value-added services, was looking for a tool that, through data mining and Artificial Intelligence (AI), would provide decision-making support regarding the viability of applications for credit products, loans, etc. Hocelot's solution processes data to determine the quality of the information received and then standardise it. With this data, they create a dynamic profile in real time by enriching the information, obtaining hundreds of variables related to each customer.
On the other hand, Aves Netsec, a Finnish start-up that uses detection technology to rapidly transform threat and vulnerability intelligence into tangible security controls, is the winner of the challenge laid down by Cipher, Prosegur’s cybersecurity department. Aves Netsec provides high-fidelity detection and intelligence on the activity of potential cybercriminals.
And lastly, the British company Luminance is the winner of the corporate challenge laid down by the Legal department of Prosegur. The aim of this collaboration is to optimise the review of all the documents managed by the area through a tool that issues a legal risk assessment report for each of the texts analysed. Thanks to the latest advances in machine learning, Luminance is able to identify and extract the clauses of documents with greater precision, thereby reinforcing security and reducing errors.
The companies selected in this second edition of COME IN will work in collaboration with the business units over the coming months to develop a value proposition for their product.
According to Jose Daniel García Espinel "once again, the second edition of COME IN has been a success. Due to our unwavering commitment to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, all of the proposals that have been submitted this year are excellent. We have managed to attract talent and disruptive ideas, which will help us to achieve a much safer world".
