Prosegur has been making progress in the sustainability of its hybrid and light fleet for years. We are currently contemplating, among other things, the design of lighter, and therefore more fuel-efficient, armoured vehicles and engines with alternative fuels such as hydrogen and other renewable sources.
Armoured vehicles
We have the first 12 hybrid ECO armoured vehicles in Spain, operating in Madrid and Barcelona, which reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere by nearly 25%, save 23% in fuel consumption and 10% in maintenance costs. The company has also presented the world's first 100% electric armoured vehicle, deployed in Germany. We are also working on the hybridization of armored vehicles with more environmentally friendly LPG—liquefied petroleum gas—engines, which are less polluting than diesel or gasoline engines. This initiative reflects our commitment to exploring sustainable solutions in every aspect of our operations.
Light Vehicles
The number of vehicles classified under the ECO environmental category with 100% electric or low-emission alternative fuel engines, such as Ethanol, LPG, Hybrids, or CNG, has reached 24% of our overall light vehicle fleet.
Telematics and shared fleet
We are globally implementing telematics solutions that analyze the usage of each vehicle to optimize routes and reduce fleets, with over 3,000 telematics-enabled units.
Shared fleet
The internal carsharing program with electric vehicles for Prosegur headquarters employees in Spain has been consolidated. Through a reservation platform managed on their smartphone terminals, a broad user community accesses to book usage during specific time slots.
