1976

Herberto Gut founded Prosegur in Spain, focused on cash-in-transit logistics and cash management, with 25 million pesetas and shareholders: Gut, Banco de Progreso, Juncadella, and Prodinsa.

1977

We launched our Guarding business, bringing these services to new markets such as large retail sites, power plants, and industrial facilities.

1980

We began our international expansion by entering Portugal, opening our first office outside Spain in Lisbon.

1982

We drove strong growth in Spain by acquiring specialist cash-in-transit companies such as Pony Express, Protecsa, Punto 5, and Isosegur.

1983

The Prosegur Foundation began its work in the field of cultural and artistic promotion.

1987

We listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange, becoming the first private security company on the Spanish stock market.

1992

We created our Alarms division, adding to our Guarding and Cash-in-Transit businesses and enabling us to cover all segments within security.

1995

We began expanding across Latin America through an agreement with Grupo Juncadella to provide guarding services and electronic systems in Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.

2001

We celebrated our 25th anniversary and strengthened our position as a Latin American benchmark in LVGE by acquiring Juncadella (with regional presence) and entered France through the acquisition of Cinieri.

2004

Helena Revoredo assumed the presidency of the company.

2005

We strengthened our Technology capabilities through the acquisition of Nordés, renewed our corporate identity with Prosegur’s new global symbol, and began operations in Mexico.

2007

We entered Colombia by acquiring Thomas Greg & Sons Transportadora de Valores; the Foundation created the CEE Aprocor–Prosegur center in Madrid; and we launched our first cash automation machine.

2008

Christian Gut became CEO; we surpassed 100 integrations and launched residential alarms in Peru, Colombia, and Brazil, strengthening our presence in Chile with Telemergencia.

2009

We surpassed 100,000 employees.

2010

The Prosegur Foundation launched “Piecitos Colorados” in Argentina to improve education and quality of life for vulnerable children, and we launched Prosegur University.

2011

We began a new phase of internationalization by entering Germany and operating in India and Singapore; in Brazil, we launched the CICLO training center for people with intellectual disabilities.

2012

We entered China with IDS; strengthened our position in Brazil with Nordeste Segurança and Transbank; and began our Oceania expansion by acquiring Chubb’s Cash-in-Transit Logistics business in Australia.

2013

We launched Prosegur Integra in Spain—our first integrated guarding and technology solution—and the Foundation reinforced inclusion by creating a Document Digitization Center.

2014

We launched Cybersecurity services with a SOC in Madrid to monitor and respond to network incidents, and introduced “El Ojo de Halcón” video surveillance for buildings in Argentina.

2015

We launched KISS in Spain and Singapore to simplify the organization and enable more agile ways of working; the Foundation marked 10 years of social action; and the Madrid Training Center celebrated 30 years.

2016

We entered Africa through a 33.33% stake in SBV Services (Namibia, Nigeria, Lesotho, and South Africa), launched e-commerce Alarms, managed 100,000 ATMs, and celebrated our 40th anniversary.

2017

Prosegur Cash debuted on the Madrid Stock Exchange.

2018

We expanded into Central America and the Philippines.

2019

We continued our expansion by entering the United States.

2020

We presented a new corporate identity to reflect our vision of leadership through innovation.

2021

We launched our Sustainability Master Plan aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

2022

We advanced our New Products area by acquiring control of the world’s third-largest retail foreign-exchange operator, ChangeGroup.

2023

We joined the UN Global Compact’s Target Gender Equality initiative to address the gender gap, and Cipher launched its end-to-end cybersecurity platform xMDR.

2024

We accelerated our technology outsourcing business by consolidating our Spanish subsidiaries under the AVOS Tech brand, beginning expansion into new sectors and countries.

2025

We launched Prosegur Digital Gold to purchase tokenized gold, and Time included us in the World’s Best Companies 2025 ranking, placing us among the world’s top 1,000 companies.

2026

We celebrate the company’s 50th anniversary and the 20th anniversary of the Prosegur Foundation.
